The Contract Strategy Manageris responsible for supporting the Contract Strategy team in the development and implementation of contract strategies and contracting platforms for the AZ Oncology product portfolio. This role will utilize strong analytical skills to drive business analytics, reporting, trend analysis, forecasting, and modeling, to support each Oncology Contract Strategy team, from implementation to ongoing monitoring of contracts. The Contract Strategy Manager will work closely with multiple Managed Market stakeholders, including Market Access Strategy, Value Strategy & Evidence, Contract Operations, Managed Markets Finance, Compliance, Legal and customer facing Account Teams. This role will help ensure contract strategies and offerings have financial justification, quantitative and qualitative business judgment in assessing the performance of existing contract strategies and offerings. The Contract Strategy Manager will support the team to deliver timely and comprehensive contract submissions and segment strategies during the Brand Team approval meetings and Gross to Net Governance Committee (GGC) processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and implementation of contract strategies and contracting platforms
- Coordinates with team of analysts/specialists in operational activities such as rebates, chargebacks, government reporting, NBIs, contract writing and process approvals
- Monitors environment, data trends and shifts in trends or behaviors, to interpret likely impact and suggest appropriate actions.
- Develops deep understanding of all contract strategies, data/data sources, and day-to-day activities
- Builds/assists in the development of Ad Hoc or queued reporting capabilities for Contract Strategy and/or Market Access teams to help support the business
- Responsible for portfolio analytics, including, but not limited to, post-deal performance monitoring, pre-deal modeling, and key account tracking
- Provides analyses to a diverse set of internal stakeholders, including Market Access Strategy, Finance, Contract Operations, Account-facing teams, and various senior leaders within the organization, to help inform business decisions
- Observes the impacts of contract strategies across brands and channels, and applies learnings towards the creation of future strategies and evaluation of current strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a relevant field (Marketing, Science, Statistics/Mathematics, Economics or Finance)
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical, financial, or related healthcare business
- Strong analytical skills including problem solving, forecasting, contract development and financial modeling
- Demonstrated negotiation and relationship building skills
- Solution/Innovation mindset
- Detailed oriented, self-disciplined and demands high-quality results
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Understanding of Market Access and Healthcare delivery
- Understanding of AZ business model with specific knowledge of brand team operation, brand planning and sales model
